Dr. Macdonald completed her medical training at McMaster University in 1993 and a residency in Psychiatry at McMaster University in 1998 with a focus on child and youth mental health. She did a fellowship in mood disorders and worked for many years as part of a team studying early intervention in depression and bipolar disorder. She has worked since 1998 as part of the Mental Health Team (Six Nations Mental Health) and the Family Health Team at the Six Nations of the Grand River Reserve in Ohsweken treating adults, youth and children. She is also working in Sioux Lookout and providing care to communities in the north.

WORKSHOP TITLE : Mental Health: Foundations, Bricks and Barriers

DESCRIPTION : The goal of this presentation will be to look at the foundations of mental health, of individuals and communities, and what we can do to build and maintain a healthy mind. We will also discuss the various factors that can affect mental health and ways to face and start to overcome some of these barriers.
