As a political science student, I garnered a lot of interest in policy making processes and developed a passion for the policies (or lack thereof) pertaining to Indigenous health. When I found out about McMaster’s Indigenous Health Movement and the 2018 conference, I became excited that there were people hosting discourses on such an important topic and advocating for the many different aspects of Indigenous health.
I hope that people across many different faculties and interests attend the upcoming conference whether or not they have previous knowledge about Indigenous health. These are important topics that need to be discussed and the more people that will listen, the greater the opportunity we have of progressing Indigenous health outcomes.
